What It Includes
We start by defining the acquisition or investment profile together with you - sector, scale, revenue range, ownership structure. We then screen the relevant universe of companies, often numbering in the thousands, drawing on proprietary project databases, industry rankings and targeted research to build a longlist that meets your minimum criteria. Each longlisted company is scored against defined dimensions and ranked into a shortlist, with the highest-priority targets profiled in depth — financials, ownership, references and strategic fit. Where requested, we go further still: arranging and facilitating in-person meetings with shortlisted companies and reporting back on acquisition readiness.
When You Need It
- You’re evaluating acquisition as a route into the Polish or CEE market and need an evaluated, scored candidate list - not just a market report.
- You have a target profile in mind but no reliable way to identify or rank the full universe of potential candidates.
- You need to move from a longlist to real conversations, including first meetings with ownership.
Real-World Examples
Our M&A work typically starts with a market too fragmented for standard databases to capture reliably, and ends with a ranked shortlist a client can act on. For a leading European building services engineering consulting firm evaluating expansion into Poland through acquisition, we screened approximately 2,000 companies in the design engineering space, applying minimum revenue and profile criteria to select 250 candidates. Every company on the longlist was scored across four dimensions and ranked into tiers, with the highest-scoring targets receiving detailed profiles covering five-year financials, ownership structure and landmark projects - supported by a parallel database of relevant M&A transactions completed in the sector over the previous five years.
